Gates open at 5pm, with the first of 10 races starting at 6pm, and organisers are expecting a bumper crowd for one of the region’s marquee events.
The Gold Pacing Cup is one of five major regional country cups, and with almost $150,000 in prize money on offer, the action on the track is set to match the buzz off it.
This year’s field is shaping up strongly, featuring three of Australasia’s best horses, making it a must-watch for racing fans.
The event will also be broadcast live on Sky Racing, putting Shepparton in the national spotlight.

Live music will come courtesy of Shanae Watson from The Voice, performing on the lawn, while kids can enjoy activities and face painting.
Food lovers are well catered for with five food vans and a barbecue, while the main dining function room is already booked to capacity.
For those looking to elevate their night, the Prosecco Bar offers an exclusive VIP experience from 6pm to 11pm.
Priced at $100 per person, the all-inclusive package features DJ entertainment, pamper stations, canapés and unlimited beer, wine, prosecco and soft drinks.
Generously sponsored by The Bottle-O Warehouse Shepparton, the bar has space for up to 300 guests, and tickets are selling fast.
General manager Rob Auber says the event is shaping up as a standout night for the region.
