Generous donation supports KDHS

The insufflator is used in laparoscopic or keyhole surgery.

It works by delivering carbon dioxide gas into a body cavity, allowing surgeons to easily view and operate while the machine regulates pressure and warms the gas to maintain patient safety.

“We wouldn’t have had that option to offer that procedure here (without it),” KDHS theatre nurse Jessie Healy said.

“The ongoing support from our auxiliary makes a meaningful difference to the services we can provide locally.”

The new insufflator improves KDHS’ ability to perform more surgical procedures and benefits patients through safer operations and faster recovery times.
