Firefighters were called to the Baulch Rd property shortly after 1.10pm to the grass and rubbish fire.
CFA District 22 commander Brendan Morris said the fire burnt a rubbish pile containing mainly almond husks and general rubbish, as well as grass in nearby paddocks.
The fire was brought under control at 1.45pm, and firefighters had the main part of the fire out at 3pm.
The fire burnt an area of 500 square metres.
As well as the 10 fire trucks, the CFA also had a big fill vehicle on scene, which is a specialised firefighting appliance that is used to re-fill the fire tankers with water.
Machinery was then brought in to pull apart the rubbish pile.
Some firefighters remained on scene to extinguish any rubbish that was still alight.
Mr Morris said CFA investigators investigating the cause of the fire on Wednesday, and deemed the cause to be undetermined, but that it was not suspicious.
The fire sparked a community information alert to be sent out from VicEmergency, for people to be aware that smoke may be visible in the area, that firefighters were on scene, and that there was no immediate threat to the community.
The alert covered Toolamba, Dhurringile, and Murchison North.
