An open day at Shepparton Airport will give visitors a chance to explore various aircraft, meet local pilots and see how the aerodrome supports emergency services, training and local industry.

Local and visiting aircraft, aviation and handling equipment will be on display on the ground, while those who want to get a bird’s eye view of the area will be able to get sky high in a joy flight for $75 or take the controls of a plane in a trial instructional flight for $150.

Following the morning’s open session will be an afternoon pilot forum.
The open session for Victorian club presidents, instructors and aviation representatives will cover topics including membership attraction and retention, aircraft insurance challenges, future opportunities for regional clubs, and council engagement, planning and development pressures.
A special Cirrus aircraft presentation will feature, including insights into innovation, safety and the future of general aviation.
The open day is on November 16, from 10am to 1pm, with the pilot forum beginning immediately after.
Entry to the open day is via a gold coin that will be donated to charity.
