Parkrun is a free, timed 5km walk or run held Saturdays with all abilities welcome.
The weekend’s event celebrated 200 parkruns, which is nearly four years worth of the weekly events since the inception of the Deniliquin version of Parkrun.
There was also a special post event cake celebration provided by the volunteers, with some parkrunners also wearing bright colours for the event.
Organisers thanked everyone who attended the day celebrating the 200th milestone.
Thanks also went to all the week’s volunteers for making the event happen and local business All 4 Espresso for providing over 50 coffees to those in attendance, on what was a chilly morning at McLeans Beach.
The events are not competitive and are open to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
The McLean Beach Parkrun starts at 8am from the start of the Beach to Beach walk, at the end of the McLean Beach car park.
Newcomers are welcome each week.
Just register for your barcode before arriving, at www.parkrun.com.au/register, and arrive a little earlier to learn the track.
Volunteers are also always needed.
Reach out to the local group via the McLean Beach Parkrun Facebook page if you can help.
