Community hubs provide plenty of worthwhile support to locals, but they’re about to do another bloody good deed.
Women’s period products are a basic need, yet one in five Victorian women is struggling to afford them.
The Wilmot Rd Community Hub is running a drive for donations of goods between August 27 and September 17.
Anyone who has new, unopened period products, including tampons, pads and period underwear, roll-on deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, to contribute, is urged to drop them off at the hub at 84 Wilmot Rd (the building in front of the school gym) between 9am and 3pm, Wednesday to Friday.
Wilmot Rd Community Hub leader Sarah Pearson will then sort out the donations.
“I will be distributing these donations between the three Goulburn Valley hubs: mine, St George’s Rd Primary School and SELC Community Hub and Mooroopna Park Primary School Hub, and also to Courtney at Family Haven Mooroopna,” Ms Pearson said.
“Anyone will be able to access these products through these locations after the drive.”
