A dozen locals, decked out in yellow tutus and swim caps, will brave the cold at 9am as part of the nationwide Daffodil Day appeal.
Among the brave are community figures Rev Patti Matthews, Dr Freya Worne, Elders Real Estate’s Brendan Allen, vineyard owner Jenny Houghton, plus locals Phil Whitten and Jill Taylor.
There’s one shared hope among participants — that the chilly water keeps the leeches away. But with a campfire roaring, sausages sizzling on the barbecue, and even a tot of rum for those who take the plunge, the event promises plenty of warmth and cheer.
Spectators are encouraged to lend their voices and drop a gold coin into the bucket to support the cause.
So far, the splash has raised $1,639, with organisers hoping to swell that tally on the day.
When and where: Thursday, August 21, 9am, Euroa Arboretum, Old Hume Hwy, Euroa.
