Around 15 fundraising committee members both past and present were invited to the Murray River Tea Rooms to mark the major achievement.
CLRS chief executive Leah Taaffe said the morning tea was a chance to thank those who made the event possible.
“The very first fundraising dinner took place in 2007, and we’ve had a core fundraising committee that has basically delivered all those dinners since,” she said.
“So we wanted to bring all the fundraising committee members through the years back together to say thank you because if they hadn’t done what they did back in 2007 we’d not be achieving what we’re achieving now.
“I think we were missing five people out of all of those people, and that’s huge. They care about it, and they valued what they did when they were on the fundraisers’ committee.”
CLRS chief executive Leah Taaffe thanked the volunteers who had a hand in the event over the years.

The annual dinners have continued to grow every year, with this year’s event raising over $83,000.
Over the years, the funds have been used to support the services provided by CLRS.
This year, the funds will support its Opening Doors Project, which aims to provide housing solutions for clients who wish to live independently.
The morning tea was held at the Murray River Tea Rooms.

The fundraising committee is made up entirely of volunteers who offer their time to bring together the annual dinners as well as fill other roles.
Volunteers are a crucial part of the community and will be celebrated during National Volunteer Week from Monday, May 19 until Sunday, May 25.
