Police attempted to intercept a black Holden Commodore in Corio St, Shepparton, about 3.10pm.
Instead, the car did a U-turn and allegedly rammed a police divisional van, causing minor damage to the front of it.
Police found the vehicle again about five minutes later in Watt Rd at Kialla.
Stop sticks were put down at the intersection of Watt Rd and McLennan St in Mooroopna.
However, when the vehicle continued west on to the Midland Hwy at Mooroopna, a police pursuit began.
The vehicle was stopped on Fenaughty Rd, near Merrigum, about 3.40pm.
A 28-year-old man from Huntly near Bendigo was arrested Thursday at the scene and interviewed by police on Friday morning.
He has been charged with offences including dangerous driving while pursued by police, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, recklessly exposing emergency services workers to risk by driving, failing to stop on police direction, driving while disqualified, driving an unregistered vehicle, refusing an oral fluid test, and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
He has been remanded in custody to face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in August.
A woman who was also in the vehicle was released by police without any charges.
Anyone who saw the vehicle, has dashcam footage of it during the incident, or had their vehicles damaged by it, should call First Constable Thomas Christie at Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit on 5820 5777.
