Guardrails on both sides of Broken River Bridge on Archer St, Shepparton, will be upgraded to meet safety standards from Monday, 30 March.
Works are expected to take five days to complete, weather permitting.
Traffic management and reduced speed limits will be in place.
Traffic controllers will manage alternating traffic over the bridge from 7am to 6pm, with minor delays to be expected.
Motorists are encouraged by Greater Shepparton City Council to consider alternative routes when possible.
The upgrade is part of council’s Guardrails for Road Bridges Renewals Program.
