Anne Buist and Graeme Simsion will visit Mooroopna Library as part of their Great Australian Bookshop Tour to discuss their already bestselling novel The Glass House.
Mr Simsion and his wife and co-author, Ms Buist, are excited to hit the road.
“We’re trying to visit every library in Australia,” Mr Simsion said.
“We’re doing four months on the road in our 25-year-old four-wheel drive, with an event every day.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
The dynamic duo has previously co-authored books that, when published, have hit the Australian fiction bestseller list. They have once again joined forces to create their latest book, The Glass House.
The Glass House follows psychiatry registrar Dr Hannah Wright, a country girl with a chaotic history, as she navigates a new job in the psychiatric ward at the Menzies Hospital.
Every day brings new patients, and Dr Wright must learn on the job in a strained medical system as she and her fellow trainees deal with the common and the bizarre, the hilarious and the tragic, and the treatable and the confronting.
Mr Simsion said he was eager to visit regional areas and chat about the book.
“We’re not making any money from this tour, we’re trying to support local booksellers,” he said.
“All the proceeds will go towards raising money for mental health charities.”
Attendees can expect a Q&A session about the book, a book signing and a discussion about mental health.
“We’re going to have a chat about mental health, but it will be in the context of the book,” Mr Simsion said.
“We’re both very much looking forward to it.”
Mr Simsion is the international bestselling author of The Rosie Project, The Rosie Effect and The Best of Adam Sharp.
Ms Buist is chair of Women’s Mental Health at the University of Melbourne and author of many psychological thrillers, including Medea’s Curse, Dangerous to Know, This I Would Kill For and Locked Ward.
The Glass House will be available to purchase at the event.
Catch the bestselling authors at Mooroopna Library on Friday, April 19, at 7pm.
