To some, a blank fence is part of the urban street scape.

But to the Cobram CFA and Arts for All, it’s an opportunity for a bit of creativity.
For the first time ever, the Cobram CFA brigade is teaming up with community group Arts for All to design and install a painted mural on the fence at the brigade’s headquarters on Colgan St.
Cobram CFA brigade captain Matt Dehne said the aim of the project was to draw attention to the headquarters as part of its latest recruitment drive.
“We want to be able to stand out,” he said.
Arts for All president June Wood said she was looking forward to working with the brigade on the project.
It might be a blank canvas now, but watch this space.
“It’s great working together with the community. They do such a great job, a lot of them are volunteers,” she said.
“Why shouldn’t we brighten up their fence and bring a bit of joy to them?”
To gather funds for the project, the two groups are hosting a screening of The Naked Gun, starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson, at the Cobram Community Cinema on Wednesday, September 10.
Admission for the event is $25 and includes a small popcorn.
