Goulburn Valley Health chief executive Matt Sharp posted on Facebook that the person is currently at home and isolating, with contact tracing under way.
"Contact tracing is under way and will continue as a primary focus of GV Health’s Local Public Health Unit," Mr Sharp said.
"Further details regarding any community locations of concern will be provided once this information is known and if it represents a concern."
He said close contacts of the case would be contacted directly by contact tracing teams.
GV Health's Acute Respiratory Clinic at Graham St is open for testing, and a drive through testing site at the Shepparton Sports Precinct on the corner of Numurkah Rd and Brauman St has also been established and will be open from 1.30pm to 6pm.
Mr Sharp said a second drive through site is being established which GV Health is "aiming to open later today."
Details on the location of this testing site will be provided shortly.

Anyone who is unwell with symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild - such as fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of sense of smell - should get tested immediately and stay at home.
Shepparton's wastewater has tested positive four times since August 10, including late on Thursday.
Additional information has been made available that indicates the specific areas of detection relate to the central Shepparton and Kialla areas.
COVID-19 has now been detected in waste water samples taken on 10-11, 13, 16 and 17-18 August.
