Euroa Music Festival president Adam Palmer said the event promised to be a "gigantic leap" in regional festival programming.
“Fresh from taking on the world and on the eve of their own fast-selling-out national tour, Rolling Blackouts will bring their rhythm-driven three-pronged guitar rock to the open-air stage at Euroa,” he said.
“We’re delighted to have them headline our first festival and can’t wait to see them under lights on the open-air stage.”
Following a COVID-19 stalemate in 2020, Mr Palmer said Euroa Music Festival had adapted and evolved to be one of the first regional music festivals pushing ahead in 2021.
“Unpigeonholeable" psychedelic groove band Mildlife will co-headline the March 27 event, while 80s melodic pop-rock band The Fauves will be the festival's legacy act.
“They’ve toured up and down the Hume Hwy so many times in 30-plus years of touring that we’re proud to call them locals,” Mr Palmer said of the group — which has released a whopping 15 albums throughout its career.
Also appearing is alternative singer-songwriter Ainslie Wills, crooner Donny Benet, funk and disco rock group Vaudeville Smash, Taiwanese-Australian singer-songwriter Jaguar Jonze, folk rocker flying across the Nullarbor with his "bush chooks" Jack Davies, alt-country artist Freya Josephine Hollick, emerging pop-artist Merpire, punk trio Pinch Points and 18-year-old RnB star Budjerah.
Mr Palmer said as a "massive music fan" himself, each Australian artist was picked for the "unique contributions" they were all making to the musical landscape.
“We've always wanted to champion emerging artists,” he said.
“The key thing is to get people to Euroa and attract a family-friendly crowd that will spread through generations.
“We feel we've made a strong push to get music going in regional Victoria.”
There will be six sections in place at Euroa Memorial Oval on the day to encourage social distancing — with different price ranges depending on proximity to the stage.
Patrons will be encouraged to bring their own chair or rug.
The Euroa showgrounds will also host glamping tents exclusive to the festival, available for booking over the weekend.
“We're all about a good line-up, attracting good people and a caring atmosphere,” Mr Palmer said.
Tickets go live at 9 am on Wednesday, January 20 and will be available via Oztix.
