COVID-19 guidelines require Victorians to maintain physical distancing of 1.5 metres, wear a fitted face mask indoors and practice good hygiene outside of the home.
GMW water storage services general manager Martina Cusack said by following the basic guidelines, everybody would enjoy a COVID-safe summer across the Goulburn Valley.
“We are asking visitors to all storages to pay attention to a few basic guidelines and to keep up-to-date with the most recent COVID-19 advice,” Ms Cusack said.
“Most importantly, people must give each other space, carry a mask and practice good hygiene.
“We hope these basic rules allow all visitors to continue enjoying our storages throughout summer.”
Wearing a face mask became mandatory indoors as of 5 pm on December 31, 2020.
Under current restrictions, if you are in Victoria and aged 12 years and older, you must carry a fitted face mask while outdoors, unless there is a lawful reason not to use one.
It is strongly recommended to wear a mask outdoors when you can’t keep 1.5 m distance from other people.
Ms Cusack also urged all visitors of GMW water storages to bring their own 60 per cent alcohol-based hand sanitiser or soap, and clean water for hand washing.
To support increased hygiene practices, she asked visitors to ensure they removed and took any rubbish with them when leaving.
GMW signage has been placed around key areas, describing current rules and which boat ramps are open and closed to the public.
Boat operators have been asked not to set up their day operations next to boat ramps, to encourage an improved launch and retrieve process.
Foreshore camping at GMW storages is not permitted.
