Shepparton Police Detective Senior Constable Jacob Sinclair confirmed two males, both of no fixed address, were arrested in relation to a number of commercial burglaries that occurred during the past few weeks.
Sen Const Sinclair said police alleged the pair managed to steal about $5000 worth of equipment from two businesses and a vehicle.
The first, a business in Apollo Dve, was targeted on the weekend between January 4 and 6, while that same weekend a theft occurred from a motor vehicle.
Police allege a business on Florence St in Shepparton was targeted on January 16.
“Numerous power tools and equipment were stolen from the businesses,” Sen Const Sinclair said.
Police confirmed a 41-year-old man was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, theft from a motor vehicle, two counts of breaching a family violence intervention order, driving while disqualified and bail offences.
He was remanded to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on February 14.
A 29-year-old man was charged with possessing methamphetamine, two counts of theft, burglary and driving while disqualified.
He faced Shepparton Magistrates’ Court this week and was sentenced to two months in prison.
