The exact address has been confirmed as 280 Lemnos North Rd.
A letter from Greater Shepparton City Council was sent to a landholder, whose property neighbours the 72ha hydroponic farm, which explained the permit could not be objected to because of clauses in the council's planning scheme.
"The use of land for crop production within a glasshouse is crop raising, which is a section 1 use in the Farming Zone — accordingly the use does not require a permit," the letter, signed by the council's statutory planner Andrew Dainton, said.
"The only permit triggers are therefore under the LSIO (Land Subject to Inundation Overlay) and FO (Floodway Overlay) — the purposes of these controls principally relate to flooding."
Greater Shepparton City Council last week said they could not disclose the location. Today, Cannatrek chief executive officer Tommy Huppert said the company was unable to disclose the address for security reasons.
