Following through on last month’s promise to bring some of Australia’s hottest bands to the Goulburn Valley, the Greater Shepparton City Council, in partnership with Shepparton Show Me and Red Hill Entertainment confirmed the exciting line-up this morning.
Aria Award-winning and Triple J Hottest 100 artists are set to take to the stage on November 2.Illy, Briggs, Alex The Astronaut, Slowly Slowly, Ocean Grove, Tones And I, Eliott, Jack Botts and Heard Instinct Collective are all on the line-up.
Having sold out countless live tours throughout his career, produced multiple platinum and gold-selling singles, and five albums including his latest, which came in at number one on the ARIA charts, headliner Illy is known as one of Australia’s smoothest MCs and an exciting live act.
Shepparton’s own Briggs is set to return to his home town for the event. Briggs has spent recent years touring alongside Ice Cube, Ice T, 50 Cent, The Hilltop Hoods and Paul Kelly and is due to release his fourth solo album in the near future.
Alex The Astronaut, best known for her song Not Worth Hiding which came in at number 23 in Triple J’s hottest 100 will make an appearance.
Slowly Slowly are touring arenas across Australia with Amy Shark right now, while their current single is one of the most-played songs on Triple J.Tones And I will give the Goulburn Valley a taste of the talent that took her from busking on the streets of Byron Bay to having over four million streams to her name.
Ocean Grove saw their debut album The Rhapsody Tapes land Feature Album of the Week on Triple J ahead of its release and was awarded a flawless 5-star review by Hysteria Magazine, who declared it “one of the most amazing feats in Australian music”.
Melbourne-based artist, Eliott is making her mark in the music industry, having performed in arenas and theatres across the country supporting Matt Corby earlier this year and currently on tour with Dean Lewis.Although she is new to the scene, her talent is seeing her music spread fast.
From the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, Jack Botts will bring his coastal vibes to Shepparton as showcased on his debut EP Summer Nights.
Heard Instinct Collective - a crew of young artists from Shepparton, Numurkah and Echuca - will add some local flavour and talent to the festival with their diverse and fresh tunes.
A second headliner, more acts and DJs are yet to be announced.
Tickets will be on sale for the 2019 Land Of Plenty music festival from 9 am on Thursday, May 16.
