The hall of St Georges Road Primary School was filled with sweet treats, floral creations, textiles and crafts for the annual Eastern Goulburn Valley CWA creative art exhibition yesterday.

Forty exhibits were on display from the eight branches, showcasing and celebrating the artistic works of members both individually and within their groups.
The eight branches of the Eastern Goulburn Valley CWA are Congupna, Caniambo, Dookie, Pine Lodge, Karramomus, Shepparton East, Shepparton Sunset and Katandra West.
Exhibits included photography, cooking, hobby work, needlework, crochet, knitting and floral art to name a few.
There was also a junior exhibition section for members of any CWA branch aged up to 18 years old.
Eastern Goulburn Valley CWA president Gwenda Metzke said the event provided a great opportunity for members to showcase their skills.
‘‘It’s just beautiful to see some of the work the women come up with,’’ she said.
Ms Metzke said new members of all ages were always welcome.
She said being involved in the CWA helped build new skills and friendships and gave people an opportunity to make a difference in their community.
‘‘We’re not just tea and scones, we do advocate for different happenings across Australia,’’ Ms Metzke said.
