An official opening was held at Shepparton Art Museum on Sunday, celebrating the work of the late Kunmanara Carroll.
On July 1, Shepparton Art Museum opened the doors to its most recent exhibition, ‘JamFactory ICON Kunmanara Carroll: Ngaylu Nyanganyi Ngura Winki (I Can See All Those Places)’.
However, on July 30, about 25 people gathered to celebrate the official opening, with talks from SAM curator Indigenous Belinda Briggs and chief executive Melinda Martin.
After talks and a viewing of the gallery, attendees went to Level 4 for afternoon tea.
The solo exhibition features Mr Carroll’s ceramics, paintings, a tapestry and multimedia content, and is located in the People’s Gallery on Level 2 of the museum.
SAM is the only Victorian venue for this exhibition, which is available to view until October 22.
