On Friday, May 9, Orrvale Primary School celebrated Mother’s Day with an eventful breakfast to go with the chilly yet sunny morning.
From 8am to 9am, a “picnic” was held at the front of the school to allow mothers, grandmothers, aunties and all the important women in the students’ lives to come together and connect.
A Mother’s Day ticket raffle also coincided with the breakfast.
“We often extend the morning for our students, and then they can sit around, parents get together, teachers go out with the parents and we all just have a community gathering, really,” community co-ordinator Stacy Karolidis said.
“I think it’s important to do these community events for our students, whether it be a breakfast, a fun run, any kind of event where we have our community (involved).”
