Goulburn Valley Health is set to receive two new wheelchairs for geriatric patients after $11,000 was raised by the extended care auxiliary group.
The group hosted a number of movie screenings to raise funds, including one on Thursday.
They also held a raffle and had "one generous donation of $1000,” Secretary Lolene James said.
GV Health extended care auxiliary unit president Heather Lloyd said one of the wheelchairs was a bariatric electric wheelchair for larger patients while the other was a versatile tilt in space wheelchair for stroke rehabilitation.
Mrs Lloyd said the wheelchairs were needed now more than ever with the hospital undergoing extensions.
“It'll help a great deal in older patient care,” she said.
