GV Health extended care auxiliary unit president Heather Lloyd said one of the wheelchairs was a bariatric electric wheelchair for larger patients while the other was a versatile tilt in space wheelchair for stroke rehabilitation.

Mrs Lloyd said the wheelchairs were needed now more than ever with the hospital undergoing extensions.

“It'll help a great deal in older patient care,” she said.
