Delighting doll exhibition at Shepparton Villages Maculata Place

Handmade dolls and teddy bears delighted residents from Shepparton Villages Maculata place on Wednesday. Volunteers from Shepparton Villages’ independent living units organised the display and afternoon tea for residents. The volunteers crafted the dolls and bears in their spare time and often donated them to charity. Shepparton Villages PR, communications and marketing manager Jo Breen said the exhibition was a great way to bring joy to the residents. ‘‘We are so fortunate to have volunteers like the ladies today, who have put this doll and teddy display on, so our residents can come together, enjoy the display and share each other’s company,’’ she said. Residents from Banksia and Hakea Lodge and families of residents also came along to see the unique creations. The volunteers organised games and activities for the residents to play and they were also each given a lucky ticket to go in the running to win some of the bears and dolls on display.
