Tony and Linda Waters opened the restaurant in 2016, and received a certificate of excellence from Tripadvisor for three consecutive years from 2017.
Despite being on the radar for Tripadvisor users already, Mr Walter said the 2020 prize was a surprise.
He said it is their ethos of ‘‘doing things right’’ which earned them the honour.
‘‘We just do our best, it’s that simple,’’ he said.
‘‘We try and offer the best food and service possible to anyone who comes in or orders take away.
‘‘We do pizzas pretty well. Our reputation for our pizzas and pasta has carried quite well.’’
The Waters said the timing of the award has been a morale booster for the business.
Like many others in the hospitality industry, it has had a difficult 2020.
Mr Water said while revenue is down because of Coronavirus related restrictions, locals have provided enough support to keep them busy.
‘‘We didn’t realise just how much business came from Victoria until the border closed,’’ he said.
‘‘We’ve been offering takeaway which has kept us busy.
‘‘It has kept us going when many people from Cobram and over the border can’t visit us at present.
‘‘It is a scary and unprecedented time, but the safety of our staff and customers is our top priority.
‘‘We will remain closed to dine-in until it is safe to open our doors again and we’ll continue to provide takeaway until we are ready to reopen,’’ Mr Water said.
