I wish for …
1. A Prime Minister who doesn’t lie, duck, weave and change position in line with the latest focus group results. Indeed a PM who does “hold a hose”.
2. An Environment Minister who actually does care about the protection of the environment and who does feel she has a "duty of care" to future Australians instead of approving new coal mines.
3. A Deputy Prime Minister who is not an embarrassment to his office or his country.
4. A Defence Minister and a Foreign Minister who understands Australia's future prosperity and security relies on good relationships with our neighbours in the Asia/Pacific, as well as with the US and UK.
5. A Treasurer who doesn’t treat taxpayers’ money as an election war chest solely for the use of the Liberal/National parties in marginal seats.
6. A Minister for Indigenous Australians who actually advances the causes of our first nations people.
7. Australia to become a republic and Australia Day becomes the day that occurs, instead of the divisive date of January 26.
8. An end to the sadistic and expensive persecution of innocent refugees currently in offshore detention.
9. The banning of Rupert Murdoch’s media (print and broadcast) licences.
10. The urgent implementation of legislation to set up a credible anti-corruption body like ICAC.
Sound like a plan for a better and more just Australia??
