By Shepparton News

The 143rd Shepparton Show is raring to go.

Presented by Shepparton Agricultural Society, the event will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 11 and 12, boasting a brand new attraction.

The Australian Horse Academy will present the Ring of Fire Horse Show Spectacular, where horses jump through six rings of fire as cannons blast fire into the air.

The Ring of Fire show will be held at 8pm on Friday and Saturday.

Shepparton Agricultural Society secretary Julie Winch said the next few days would be busy with preparations for the show.

“There's a lot of family involvement in the show, it gets in your blood,” she said.

A number of livestock entries will be present including dairy cattle, Boer goats, miniature goats, horses and poultry. Other attractions include a sheep shearing demonstration, ferret racing — back by popular demand — and a dog show with up to 400 entries.

An abundance of free activities for children will be available including Brophy Bros Circus, potting plants, painting cows and animal nursery.

A vintage peddle car and a Royal Flying Doctor Society plane will also be on display, and the Country Women's Association will be offering Devonshire tea throughout the day and a huge variety of food trucks will be present.

Side shows will be coming straight from the Royal Melbourne Show and the Royal Perth Show.Applications for the Rural Ambassador Awards — which highlight community involvement and the ingenuity of young Victorians — are still open on the Victorian Agricultural Shows website.

The Tiny Tots miss and master pageant entries close at 11am on Friday, October 11.

Early-bird family tickets for one adult and three children are available from the Shepparton Agricultural Society office for $45.
