The Victorian Government and the DHHS eased restrictions for health care facilities on November 22.
There are now no limits on the number of people visiting patients or residents, or restrictions on the reason for visiting.
Visitors do not have to be socially distanced when inside a patient or resident’s private room, however, they must observe social distancing rules when in communal spaces or shared rooms.
Residents can also now leave their care facility for any reason, provided they comply with current restrictions applicable to all Victorians.
NCN Health chief executive Jacque Phillips said the new directions were fantastic news, especially ahead of the Christmas season.
“We ask the community for patience as our staff work with residents, patients and their families to ensure they are informed of the updated directions,” she said.
“If you are planning on visiting a loved one this week, it is a good idea to call ahead first.”
She said NCN Health staff were working to implement the changes and co-ordinate visiting hours across the three campuses at Nathalia, Cobram and Numurkah.
There are a number of restrictions that remain in place for visitors.
“Visitors to the hospital and residential aged care must be screened upon entry, visitors over 12 years old must wear a mask, sanitise their hands and practice social distancing in communal areas,” Ms Phillips said.
NCN Health will also welcome volunteers back in the coming weeks and months.
