After last year’s trip to Japan, where students explored iconic cities including Tokyo, Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Osaka, this September the next group will travel to Vietnam and Cambodia.
Their itinerary features visits to significant historical sites such as the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Killing Fields, providing insights into the region’s past.
The travel program is funded by the school, which keeps costs to a minimum for families, covering everything except passports and vaccinations.
Previously, Year 11 students applied through essays to attend, but now every student in the year level is offered the opportunity.
Past participants describe the experience as unforgettable, reflecting on the culture they discover and the excitement of exploring historic sites.
College social worker Joel Hoffman, who travels with the students overseas, said the students valued and appreciated their overseas experiences.
When the students get back, they share their experiences and appreciation for world history within the school community.
