I have led a rich personal life. I am happily married with our 17th wedding anniversary fast approaching. I have five children aged 12 to 35 and a newborn granddaughter. I have a broad and diverse range of working experience. Just two examples are in the Victorian Government for 13 years as accountant of the National Gallery of Victoria and as financial accountant in the Treasury. The past 23 years I have been self-employed. I started and operated my own business in retail for six years. I started an independent real estate agency which I operated for four years in conjunction with my mortgage broking business, which I founded 18 years ago and continue to operate. My goal as the Member for Nicholls is to make a difference; a difference to farmers who are the foundation of our local economy, a difference to youth who are over-represented in unemployment in the local area, a difference to local business like retailers, service providers, restaurants and pubs and a difference to the cost of electricity which is far too expensive; with the elderly too cold at night and businesses with overheads that are way too high and keeping them poor.
