*Result: Penrith (28) beat Parramatta (12) in front of 82,415 fans at Accor Stadium.

*The story: Penrith can lay claim to an NRL dynasty after defeating Parramatta to become only the second team this century to win back-to-back premierships. The opening exchanges were bruising but the Panthers soon took control of the contest with a disciplined performance typical of Ivan Cleary's men.

*Key stat: The Panthers established their first-half lead on the back of their ability to win the battle for metres. Penrith were up 18-0 at half time and had run for more than double the number of metres as their opponents (988-466).

*Key moment: When Reed Mahoney put in a grubber-kick across the field, Bailey Simonsson dashed down the left and appeared bound for the tryline. But Dylan Edwards gave chase and bundled him into touch with a tackle that recalled that made by Scott Sattler in Penrith's 2003 premiership win. Demoralised, the Eels conceded in the next set and were officially out of the contest.

*Star player: Penrith fullback Dylan Edwards capped off a career-best year with another busy night. He set the try up that opened the scoring for Penrith and with his prolific running game, he ignited a dominant 30 minutes to end the first half.Â
