Adam Serafini, who started at the Shepparton Law Courts in 2011, is now the manager of Shepparton’s Specialist Family Violence Court.
“There’s always something going on, every day is different,” 31-year-old said.
“You’re dealing with a variety of people and situations, and you develop from that experience.”

According to Mr Serafini, Shepparton is a great place to live and work and the modern court complex is a great work environment.
“The courthouse here is one of the best in the country, so the work conditions and facilities are first-class,” he said.
His colleague Amber Mark became a trainee court registrar at Shepparton 18 months ago.
“I just thought it sounded so interesting and offered so many opportunities,” the 24-year-old said.
Since taking on the traineeship, Ms Mark has not looked back and hopes to one day become a senior manager.
“There’s job security and there are a variety of career paths you can follow,’’ she said.
“I’d say ‘go for it’ to anyone who is thinking about applying.”
Magistrates’ Court of Victoria learning and development manager Kathleen Sanderson started her career as a trainee court registrar.
“Registrars work in an interesting and sometimes demanding environment involving the judiciary, police, legal profession, community groups and the public,” she said.
“It’s a great career and I’d recommend it to any young person who thinks they might be suited.”
Candidates must have successfully completed VCE/HSC or equivalent, one year of an approved and relevant tertiary course or one year full-time in a relevant job.
Magistrates’ Court of Victoria chief executive Simon Hollingsworth said registrars played a vital role in the court’s operations.
“A traineeship is an opportunity to work in a dynamic and very supportive organisation with tremendous scope for career advancement,” he said.
