Despite rope barriers on the Midland Hwy between Mooroopna and Tatura being damaged for at least six months, Victorian Treasurer Jaclyn Symes assures that there is significant funding in place for the upgrade of regional roads.
“I know it's a big issue and it is an issue that has significant funding,” she said, when questioned by The News.
There is evidence that where temporary road bollards have been applied, holes soon reappear with at least 20 wire-rope barriers having been either knocked down or completely destroyed along the highway, stretching from Shepparton to Tatura.
Ms Symes was speaking at a recent Tongala event, where she announced a $1.5 million grant to support the expansion of Tongala Nutrition’s exporting services.
