Detectives executed multiple search warrants in the Shepparton, Mooroopna and Kyabram areas in relation to alleged burglaries, thefts and thefts of motor vehicles between February 28 and March 26.
Officers located and seized two trailers, an allegedly stolen white 2020 Kia sedan, about $5000 in allegedly stolen property and several electronic devices capable of generating electronic keys to assist in stealing motor vehicles.
Five people were arrested by police.
Police will allege the quintet stole a number of items from properties in Cobram, Kyabram, Congupna and Shepparton, before using a vehicle to gain access to a store in Shepparton.
Police also allege the group rammed a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old man in Shepparton.
The other driver was not injured.
A 25-year-old Shepparton man has been charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
He was bailed to appear before Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on May 15.
A 28-year-old Shepparton man was charged with theft of motor vehicle, while a 38-year-old Shepparton man was charged with drug offences.
A 46-year-old Shepparton man was charged with handling stolen goods and drug offences, and a 33-year-old Shepparton woman was charged with theft of motor vehicle.
All four were bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on October 2.
The investigation remains ongoing.
