Against the Murray champions, Tally would not be denied.

In the division two weekend pennant showdown, it was the MPA walking away with the chocolates after Numurkah claimed a five-shot win over Shepparton Park.

Meanwhile, GMBR champions were crowned across the board at Playing Area finals held at Strathmerton at the weekend.
Hill Top’s Russell Locke secured the men’s champion of champion’s billing with a 25-16 win over Numurkah Golf’s Dan Nichols, while Charmaine Reid made it a Goulburn Valley double with a 12-shot result against Tocumwal’s Judy Harvie.
In the state singles, Greg Dunn was triumphant against Shepparton Golf’s Brent Reiner, as Shepparton Park’s Kate Bush clinched the first of four titles for the event with a 25-19 victory against Katrina Glover.
Bush also took out the women’s over-60s singles, over-60s pairs alongside Di Hands, and the over-60s pairs with Paul Nichols.
Champion of champion pairs honours belonged to the East Shepparton combination of Jeanette Doherty and Marilyn Cox, while in the state edition, Katrina Glover and Rebecca Dungan were victorious.
Wunghnu produced several champions on the day with John McKenzie and Barry Cosgrove clinched the men’s state pairs, while Jacob, Josh, and David Cartwright teamed up with Doug Larkin to claim the state fours.
The Seymour duo of Peter and Rob Baldwin combined for the men’s champion of champion pairs victory, while Numurkah Golf and Bowls trio Frank Houlihan, Geoff Sutcliffe, and Dan Nichols claimed the state triples.
