This season’s program features more than 60 activities designed to get people outdoors, active and connected.
From fitness sessions and sport clinics to creative workshops, and family-friendly events, the autumn line-up encourages people of all ages to connect, try something new and enjoy their local surrounds.
A key feature of this season’s program is the Boot Swap initiative, delivered in collaboration with Kick It Forward and Shepparton Junior Soccer Association.
The initiative aims to support local families ahead of the winter sports season by redistributing pre-loved football boots to children and young people across Greater Shepparton.
Greater Shepparton City Council is collecting soccer, Aussie rules and rugby boots in good wearable condition.
Donations can be dropped off at Shepparton Sports Stadium or Aquamoves between 10am and 4pm until Thursday, April 30.
The initiative will culminate in a free community Boot Swap event where families can donate, swap or collect a pair of boots.
The Boot Swap event will be held on Saturday, May 2, from 9am to 3pm at the Shepparton Sports Precinct Small Pavilion.
The Activities in the Park program will see popular favourites return alongside new experiences for children, young people, families and older adults, offering a mix of active outdoor sessions and relaxed community gatherings across the region.
Mayor Shane Sali said the autumn program played an important role in keeping the community active and connected beyond the summer months.
“Autumn is a great time to get outside and enjoy what our region has to offer,” he said.
“Activities in the Park makes it easy for families and individuals to try something new, stay active and spend time together in our parks and open spaces.”
For updates on the activities, residents and visitors can get their copy of the program flyer by visiting the Activities in the Park website or following Activities in the Park on Facebook.
