The Parkers scored a 71-52 triumph at Euroa Bowls Club, but rink scores midway through each rink’s 21 ends suggested a tighter encounter than the final score suggests.
Shepparton Park skip Kate Bush delivered the telling blow, the last seven ends of her quartet’s bout against Golf’s Kris Ferguson netting them 13 shots to four and an overall result of 29-20.
Park’s Ross Higgins managed to quell Peter Lesuer in the second rink 19-14, while Noel Halden was forced to earn his 23-18 win by Golf’s Kris Wright, with only a shot in it the way of Shepparton Park with two ends to play.
Park now has an opportunity to lift the Edna Harling Shield in two weeks’ time – but who will Shepparton Golf face at the last chance saloon?
Euroa’s whirlwind season continued after winning a thrilling do-or-die final against Seymour at Shepparton Golf Bowling Club, earning a hard-fought 55-49 win.
Seymour had the best of Euroa in two out of three rinks, with skip Max Hammond (20-19) breaking the deadlock on the final end, while Alison Hall’s 19-14 triumph seemingly had her squad en route to victory.
Bill Taylor’s four had other ideas.
A dominant final stanza from the Euroa skip saw them roar across the line, picking up a 22-10 win and a six-shot overall result.
The victory earns Euroa a preliminary final clash against Shepparton Golf on Tuesday, February 24, with the winner advancing to face Shepparton Park in the grand final.
The venue is still to be announced.
