The Yarrawonga Mulwala Artists Association (YMAA) has presented a cheque for $3,450 to Lesley Shead and Cheryl Fasoli from the Yarrawonga Friends in Common.
The funds were raised from the sale to the public of artwork created and donated by the YMAA artists annual ‘Canvas for Cancer’ event.
The event started in 2023 after some YMAA members were diagnosed with cancer and required treatment.
The Association, recognising the need to support those members and their families, instigated the event to provide funds to Friends in Common in acknowledgement of the amazing work undertaken by them.
Since 2023, $8,500 has been raised.
There are still many ‘Canvas for Cancer’ artworks on sale at the Galley, which have been discounted to $50.

The Gallery, located at 26 Hovell Street Yarrawonga, is open up to 6 days a week from 10am to 3pm, Wednesday to Monday.
