Egan lost 14 kilograms mid-season as she battled a severe sickness that left her hospitalised for three weeks, but made an immediate impact on her return.
The finals weeks of Egan’s campaign saw her average 23.2 disposals, 3.8 tackles and 3.5 clearances in her final six games, and while the midfielder was recognised as one of the best on ground in her final match, it was not enough to secure a renewed deal at Tigerland.
The onballer’s abrupt departure from Richmond had rivals circling, and after meeting with multiple clubs, it is expected Egan signs with inaugural AFLW side Adelaide once the free agency and trade period window opens, according to AFL Media’s Riley Beveridge.
The Shepparton product informed other rival clubs during the week about her intentions to sign with the three-time premiers, which finished sixth in 2025 and bowed out in the semi-finals.
The 66-gamer will head to West Lakes to continue into her eighth year of AFLW football, with the Crows Egan’s third club after beginning her career at Carlton.
Egan moved to Richmond ahead of the AFLW’s seventh season, the second season played in 2022, following 23 games at IKON Park.
The AFLW free agency and trade period window opens on Thursday, December 4.
