The service will operate from a pop-up space in central Shepparton from Thursday, December 4 to Wednesday, December 24.
Greater Shepparton City Council is asking groups to provide at least one volunteer each day to wrap gifts from 10am to 4pm for one week.
All wrapping materials will be supplied by council.
Participating groups will receive a donation from council, along with any additional donations collected during their allocated period.
The gift wrapping service forms part of a council campaign that encourages people to shop local and enjoy festive activities across Greater Shepparton.
Mayor Shane Sali encouraged community groups to take part.
“This is a great opportunity for local groups to raise funds and help bring festive spirit to our community,” he said.
Applications close on Friday, November 28, with applicants notified of the outcome on Monday, December 1.
