Twelve new social housing homes across Shepparton are only weeks away from completion, thanks to the Victorian Government’s Flood Recovery program – providing safe, modern and energy-efficient homes for families impacted by the floods.
Nine two-bedroom and three one-bedroom homes will be delivered in a partnership between the Victorian Government and Beyond Housing, with families moving in early 2026.
A further eight homes were completed with Beyond Housing in early 2025, with families now settled into their new homes.

Beyond Housing chief executive officer Celia Adams said natural disasters had a devastating and enduring impact on regional towns and cities like Shepparton.
“Long after floodwaters recede, the impact of displacement is felt within our community, and is still being felt three years on,” she said.
“We are proud to work in partnership with the state government to deliver beautiful, modern, homes for people to call home.”
Minister for Housing and Building Harriet Shing said housing played an important role in rebuilding communities after a disaster.
“It’s crucial in helping people get back on their feet,” she said.
“Many of the 70 flood recovery homes have already been completed across Shepparton with local residents now happily settled into their new homes.”
State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said every new home built in Shepparton made a difference.
“It means another local family can stay in the community they love and rebuild their lives with stability and security,” she said.
