Drainage works aim to reduce future flooding

The Greater Shepparton City Council works will involve the installation of large drainage pipes which will be connected to the existing pit at the entrance of Carroll Rd.

The upgrades are designed to improve water flow and reduce flooding during future rain events.

Construction started on November 11 and will continue through until mid-January next year.

The works will be carried out over about eight weeks, subject to weather conditions.

Carroll Rd will remain open, though minor delays are expected, with traffic management in place throughout this time.

From Tuesday, November 18, to Thursday, November 20, access to Carroll Rd, which services the Container Deposit Scheme depot as well as other businesses, will be altered.

A temporary entrance to Carroll Rd will be established next to the existing one during this time.

After Friday, November 21, work will be located within the northern service road of the Midland Hwy and is not expected to significantly affect traffic flow or pedestrian access near the Carroll Rd and Midland Hwy intersection.
