The ovens at Tinto Bakery will be working overtime on Sunday, but it’s not just flaky pastries and fresh bread rising — it’s hope.

On November 16, from 9am to 1pm, the Shepparton bakery will host its second Bake Sale for Palestine, raising funds to help rebuild the lives of Palestinians affected by the war in Gaza.
Alongside much-loved almond croissants and morning buns, Tinto’s menu will again expand to include traditional Palestinian sweets, with recipes generously shared by owner Hannah Quick’s friends living in Gaza.
Why hold another fundraiser?
Ms Quick answers it best: “A ceasefire shouldn’t mean a cease in donations.”
“Everybody heard about the ceasefire that was agreed upon, but that doesn’t mean everything’s fixed straight away,” she said.
“People still need money to rebuild their houses and support themselves while they’re going through this more peaceful — as peaceful as it can be — time.”
This time, Ms Quick hopes to raise, bake and make an even greater impact.
“Our last campaign was an incredible success ... but the work isn’t over,” she said.
“The need has only grown, and every contribution makes a difference.
“We know we can’t fix everything, but we can do something; we can give what we can, share what we can, and keep the momentum going — because when the headlines fade, families in Gaza still need us.”
