The event will run from 10am to 4pm, offering free pet health checks, vaccines, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, food and behavioural advice for concession card holders in Greater Shepparton.
RSPCA Victoria community outreach manager Lauren Roberts said the event provided crucial support to local pet owners facing financial challenges.
“Our expert animal care team provides vaccines, check-ups and behavioural advice completely free for valid concession card holders — services that would usually cost over $150 per animal,” Dr Roberts said.
“We want to keep local pets happy and healthy for years to come, and this is a great opportunity for owners to access expert care from our friendly vets, vet nurses and animal behaviourists.”
The Healthy Pet Day program is funded by the Petbarn Foundation, which helped more than 340 animals across nine events last financial year, saving pet owners over $51,000 in veterinary costs.
Petbarn Foundation manager Janelle Bloxsom said the initiative played a vital role in keeping pets with their families.
“We’re proud to support the RSPCA in ensuring pets stay healthy and families stay together, even during tough times,” Ms Bloxsom said.
To access the free services, participants must be 18 or older, hold a valid concession or health care card, and live in Greater Shepparton.
All cats must arrive in secure carriers and dogs on leads.
