The free, family-friendly event will be held at Hopwood Gardens, Echuca from 10am to 2pm and is designed to equip locals with practical knowledge.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the day was an opportunity to learn from a range of stakeholders in an engaging environment.
“We know emergencies can happen at any time, and this event is about giving our community the tools and confidence to respond effectively,” he said.
“From CFA and SES to water and power authorities, we’ve got a fantastic mix of stallholders ready to share advice and answer questions.
“With free kids’ activities and plenty of hands-on demonstrations, it’s a great way to learn while getting the whole family involved.”
The expo will include emergency resources, advice and demonstrations covering topics such as smoke alarm maintenance, sandbagging, water safety and storm preparation.
Council’s Relief, Resilience and Recovery and Emergency Management team will promote the First 72 Hours program, encouraging household preparedness for the first three days after an emergency.
Being a family-friendly event, a jumping castle, face painting and games will be on-site.
The Port of Echuca Country Fair is also set for the day, providing even more reason to pay a visit.
The event is a Campaspe Shire Council flood recovery program initiative, funded by the Victorian Government.
