The event on Saturday, September 27 gave children and parents alike the chance to hold lizards, touch snakes and meet a range of furry and scaly animals.
For many, it was a first-time thrill to feel the smooth skin of a python or the tiny claws of a baby marsupial, with wide-eyed smiles proving the morning was one to remember.
Tiny Tails wildlife handlers guided visitors through each interaction, sharing facts about the animals’ habitats and behaviours, while reminding everyone of the importance of conservation and respect for native species.
With the spring sunshine overhead, the playground buzzed with laughter.
News photographer Rechelle Zammit captured the children bravely handling snakes, patting lizards and embracing the Wildlife Wonders experience.
Grannie Jenny O’Connell beams with pride as her grandson Mac Walters, 21 months, pats the baby crocodile.
