The annual tour during Health and Safety Month will see 19 face-to-face events across the state, including one in Shepparton on October 17.
There will also be 12 webinars to drive conversations about workplace safety.
Free expert-led sessions will give workers and employers the chance to learn about current trends and issues, with a spotlight on high-risk industries including construction, manufacturing, agriculture, health care and social assistance, and the public sector.
The regional roadshow will cover diverse topics and industries, including safer manual handling, supporting workers returning from injury, the importance of health and safety representatives, and managing dangerous goods.
Hosts and MCs, including former Geelong captain Cameron Ling, will present the event in Shepparton.
WorkSafe chief executive Ash West will feature in a webinar outlining WorkSafe’s five-year strategy to reduce workplace deaths by 30 per cent, reduce workplace injuries by 20 per cent and improve return-to-work rates by 10 per cent.
The webinars will run from October 27 to 31.
Mr West encouraged employers and workers to take advantage of the opportunity to hear the latest advice and insights from health and safety experts across a range of industries.
“Health and safety advice evolves as industries adapt to the latest innovations, so Health and Safety Month provides fresh perspectives on important issues, even for experienced employers and workers,” he said.
“Each session is aligned to WorkSafe’s goals to reduce workplace harm and see more people returning to work, so we’re confident the sessions will equip participants with the tools and knowledge they need to make positive change in their workplaces.”
Webinars will include a range of subjects, including new psychological health regulations – to be introduced later this year – that will strengthen protections against psychosocial hazards in the workplace.
Registrations are now open for all events, with each session including a question and answer segment for participants to get advice on any workplace health and safety issues or concerns.
The Shepparton seminar will be held at the Goulburn Valley Hotel on October 17, from 9am to 1pm.
