Dating app meet turns into alleged attempted carjacking

Police allege that when they met, the 19-year-old produced a “sharp-edge weapon” and threatened the other man and tried to take his car.

The victim managed to drive away.

A 19-year-old Wangaratta man was charged on Wednesday, September 23, with attempted aggravated carjacking, intentionally causing injury and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

He was remanded in custody to face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.
