This statewide celebration honours the contributions, wisdom, and spirit of older Victorians and provides an opportunity for residents aged 60 and over to come together, explore new interests, and enjoy a diverse range of free and low-cost activities.
In addition, many events across Benalla are wheelchair accessible and designed for people of all abilities.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn said the Senior’s Festival recognises the vital role older people play in our community.
“This year’s theme, Connect, Create, Celebrate, honours the contributions and wisdom of older residents and encourages lifelong learning,” Cr Hearn said.
“The festival is a time to come together, share stories, and celebrate the journey of ageing with pride and purpose.
“Benalla Rural City is proud to support events and opportunities that keep older people active, engaged, and valued.”
This year’s program features arts trails, digital mentoring, fitness classes, community gatherings, and special events such as the Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe Tribute Show and a High Tea and Fashion Parade.
Other 2025 Senior Festival highlights include:
- An Open Morning and Display at Benalla Woodworkers Association and Men’s Shed.
