It proved so again in the 2025 Goulburn Valley League grand final against Rochester.
Bombers legend Jason Morgan produced a vintage performance down back, a brick wall at his intercept marking best in tandem with skipper Aidan Robinson,
The Bombers back six looked impenetrable, with Morgan collecting eight marks and 19 disposals, and curtailing the influence of Tigers goal-kicker Hugh Hamilton early in the game.
The 30-point win is the 39-year-old’s fourth GVL senior premiership from seven grand final appearances, making him one of Kyabram’s, if not the league’s, most successful players.
He wasn’t the only one to notch a magic fourth flag; Bombers stalwarts Liam Ogden and Tom Holman join him among the old guard to win the ultimate prize in 2013, 2016, 2018, and now 2025.
“You definitely don't get sick of winning flags,” Morgan said post-game.
“It’s hard to put into words, but it's just good reward for the club at the end of the year.
“It was a good performance across the board, everyone played their role.
“That was the aim of the game, everyone winning their contests, doing their bit, playing our role and playing our game plan - we did that for four quarters.”
A tight-knit culture has fuelled Kyabram’s premiership resurgence, according to Morgan, who made mention of the reserves following their seven-point defeat against Seymour.
“It’s a really close group,” he said.
“We’ve got a lot of young guys coming through together that are really close.
“The reserves unfortunately lost, but they had a good year as well.
“It’s a really close club and everyone's had fun this year.”
The ageless defender continues to excel, and after two decades of unwavering service to his cherished Bombers, Morgan has indisputably cemented his status as a club legend.
And as for next year?
“We'll celebrate first and work that out later on,” Morgan said with a grin.
