Update: 5:00pm: Shepparton has won the A-Grade netball grand final emphatically over Euroa.
Sophie Harmer and Kim Borger dominated in the goal scorer circle, with Harmer winning the best on ground medal.
The Bears led from the jump and never looked back, victorious by 21, 62-41.
Update: 4:50pm: It was all the Bombers in quarter three and one hand is firmly placed on the GVL premiership cup.
A quarter of Holman heroics has lifted Kyabram towards a flag, kicking three goals and a behind in the quarter while looking dangerous at every inside 50 entry.
Riley Ironside also snagged a major for the red and black, while it took until the 25th minute of the term for Rochester to kick truly.
Kyabram lead 11.14 (80) to 6.4 (40) with one to play.
Update - 4:00pm: A gritty term from Rochester has them right in the hunt, but Kyabram are holding firm.
Brothers Hugh and Wil Hamilton have continued to hit the scoreboard for the Tigers, while Coby McCarthy and Liam Ogden converted from free kicks to maintain the buffer.
At the half it is 7.8 (50) to 5.1 (31) Kyabram’s way.
Update - 3:25pm: Kyabram has the early ascendancy in senior decider
Drew Lloyd kicks the first of the grand final, but kicking with the wind towards the Skene St end, the Bombers capitalise through Liam Ogden, Nic Jephson, Kaine Herbert, and Anthony DePasquale.
Hugh Hamilton had the Tigers second, and the score is 4.6 (30) to 2.0 (12).
Update - 2:45pm: Echuca claim B-grade silverware
They were made to work for it, but the Murray Bombers secured a deserved 44-38 win over Seymour to take out the B-grade netball.
Echuca’s Jesie Milligan was judged best on court.
We move on to the senior football decider - Kyabram faces Rochester.
Update - 2:15pm: Seymour holds on!
Jack Radford and Dylan Davis kicked clutch goals, and despite a late Kyabram charge Seymour has held on for a 6.9 (45) to 5.8 (38) result to win the 2025 GVL reserves premiership!

Jack Radford juggles the mark at the top of the square, and from a slight angle, hits the set shot to hand Seymour a one-point lead!

It’s the time for a hero for Seymour, with 16 minutes gone and the ball parked in Kyabram’s forward 50.

It’s 30 apiece at the final break of the reserves grand final.
Over on the courts, it’s a similar story, with Echuca and Seymour locked up at 23 each!
Update - 1:30pm: Trading goals
In the B-grade grand final, Echuca and Seymour are into the second quarter.
The Lions hold a slender lead, up 20-19 closing in on half-time.
Over in the footy crowd, Adelaide’s Josh Rachele watches on, and from the Kyabram rooms, Money For Nothing by Dire Straits is blaring.
Update - 1:25pm: Tightening up and goal of the day so far
It took nine minutes into the third quarter but Seymour’s Tait Thomas kicked truly from the Bears clubroom pocket to send the Lions two goals.
Kyabram’s Tom Burnett provided the reply instantly, streaming 50 metres down the Nixon Street wing and unloading a bomb from the arc on an angle to keep the Bombers in touch - 2.5 (29) plays 3.3 (21).

Half-time of the reserves grand final and the clash is pretty evenly poised.
Seymour takes a 3.4 (22) to 2.2 (14) lead over Kyabram in a spirited second quarter, neither team able to completely run away with it on a dreary Shepparton day.
Julian Morgan and Jack Radford kicked the Lions’ goals, while Sam Vick added one for the Bombers.
Update - 12:55pm: Seymour hold steady for B-reserve flag
Premiership silverware is heading to Kings Park.
Euroa came at them hard, but the Lions have run away with a 45-29 win in the B-reserve grand final.
Goal defender Ruby Trimble was immovable, judged best-on-court.
Update - 12:35pm: Cagey start to reserves grand final
It was a blustery first quarter in the reserves grand final, with Will Wild the only goal-scorer.
Kyabram 1.2 (8) leads Seymour 0.4 (4).
Meanwhile, Seymour looks to be home and hosed with a 39-24 buffer in the last quarter of the B-reserve grand final.
Update - 12:05pm: O’Brien named Bears’ best in monumental grand final win
Shepparton has cruised to a big win over Mooroopna in the under-18 football grand final, 19.14 (128) to 4.2 (26).
Sam O’Brien’s performance netted him the Freddo McMahon Medal for best-on-ground, while teammate Liam Teague shared the Garry Lyon Medal for best in finals with Mooroopna’s Jayden Thorne.
Kyabram and Seymour are warming up for the reserves decider.
On the court, Seymour leads Euroa 23-16 at half-time in the B-reserve grand final, with the Pies trimming down an 11-goal buffer from the first term.
Update - 11.45am: Bears nab double against Cats
Shepparton has claimed the 17-and-under flag against Mooroopna in a thriller on court.
As the game ebbed and flowed it was the Bears that clawed their way over the line, escaping with a 30-28 scalp.
On field, the Bears cruised to a staggering victory over the Cats in the under-18 football grand final, 15.12 (102) to 4.2 (26).
Update - 11.30am: Pearson praises sharpshooting Head
Bottom age superstar Sarah Head put Echuca’s 15-and-under netball side on her back in the grand final against Mooroopna.
The goal-shooting Murray Bomber was clinical in the goal circle with coach Gina Pearson heaping on praise for the young gun.
“Sarah (Head) is a very young player, she’s just turned 14, she’s outstanding and gets a lot of attention from the opposition’s defence,” Pearson said.
“She remained focused, kept in the game and shot unbelievably well - she’s amazing.”
Update - 11am: Cats attempting fightback
Its three quarter time in the under-18 football grand final and while the Bears still keep the lead, Mooroopna is clawing its way back into the contest.
The scores currently stand Shepparton 9.8 (62) to Mooroopna 4.2 (26).
On court, Shepparton Bears are leading Mooroopna in the 17-and-under grand final 25-20 in the last quarter.
Update - 10:45am
Slight drizzle settling in at Deakin Reserve as the under-18 football and 17-and-under games draw closer to three quarter time.
On the oval, Shepparton is ahead of Mooroopna 7.7 (49) to 3.2 (20) with Sam O’Brien and Kaleb Gilmour booted two goals apiece for the Bears.
Meanwhile the Bears lead 20-18 on the netball courts with a bumper last exchange looming.
Update - 9:55am
Echuca has claimed the first silverware of the day.
The Murray Bombers produced a come-from-behind victory in the 15-and-under decider, prevailing over Mooroopna 53-50 with Echuca’s Sarah Head named best on court.
Next up on the netball courts is Mooroopna versus Shepparton in the 17-and-under grand final.
Meanwhile, the second quarter has just begun in the under-18 football, with Shepparton leading Mooroopna 3.2 (20) to 1.0 (6).

And we’re off!
It’s a crisp morning at Deakin Reserve as the Goulburn Valley League grand final gets underway, starting off with the 15-and-under netball clash between Mooroopna and Echuca.
Mooroopna trailed 14-12 at the opening change but turned it round to lead 26-24 at the half.
The under-18 football match between Shepparton and Mooroopna is up next, with the first bounce slated for 9:30am.
